A Brooklyn couple is dead after a fast-moving fire tore through their home early Monday morning.

Fire investigators say it began around 3:30 a.m. on te first floor of a two and a half story home located at 1174 44th Street in Borough Park.

Firefighters found the 61-year-old husband and 59-year-old wife unconscious in their bedroom.

They were rushed to Maimonedes Hospital where they died.

Fire officials say they had a hard time getting to them.

“There was a large body of fire when our units first came in on the first floor and on the second floor going up the stairwell the interior stairs so they were delayed getting up there. They had to knock down the fire on those stairs to get upstairs,” said an FDNY official at the scene.

The couple’s 17-year-old daughter was found on a fire escape.

She’s being treated at the hospital.
