De Blasio Seeks City Hall Support for Disability Benefits Hike

In a sign of a rare rift between City Hall and the City Council, Mayor de Blasio and his staffers were scrambling late Tuesday to garner support for his proposal to hike disability benefits for uniformed workers.

Several council members told The Post they’d either been pressed by de Blasio or his staff to indicate whether they would back his proposal if it is brought to a vote.

De Blasio’s office, however, said, “The mayor routinely reaches out to City Council members on various issues — including on legislation that will do right by our uniformed public servants as well as our taxpayers.
