FDNY Rescue Two People in Hudson River

WEST VILLAGE, Manhattan — Two people were rescued from the Hudson River Wednesday evening.

Preliminary reports say one person jumped into the river near Charles Street, and a second person went in to rescue them.

The would-be rescuer was pulled from the water and in stable condition.

Divers spent 15 minutes searching for the person who fell in before they found him.

He was taken to Lenox Hospital and is listed in serious condition.
