Multiple Homes without Power after Food Truck Hits Utility Pole on Staten Island

MARINERS HARBOR, N.Y. (PIX11)– A food truck crashed into a pole on Staten Island early Monday, injuring one person and taking the power out of multiple homes, according to FDNY. A call came in about 2:38 a.m. Monday of a crash on 490 Morningstar Road in the Mariners section of Staten Island, FDNY said. They said a food truck slammed into a utility pole, which knocked power out of dozens of homes.

FDNY said one person was taken to a Richmond University Medical Center with minor injuries.

Con Ed said there are more than 70 customers affected. Power is expected to be back around 8 a.m., they said.
