A fire that ignited in the basement of a Meiers Corners home early Sunday morning drew a large response from the city Fire Department (FDNY). (Google Maps)

The fire, which started in the basement of a single family home at 573 Ingram Ave. just after midnight, was extinguished by 12 FDNY units of 65 firefighters at 12:25 a.m., said an FDNY spokeswoman.
