7 Injured in Massive Borough Park Fire, FDNY Says

BROOKLYN — A half dozen firefighters and one civilian were injured after a massive blaze broke out in a Borough Park home Friday, officials said.

The fire happened at 2062 61st St. near 21st Avenue at about 3:30 p.m., an FDNY spokesman said. More than 140 firefighters responded and brought the blaze under control by 4:17 p.m.

Six firefighters suffered minor injuries and the civilian was taken to Staten Island University Hospital in serious but stable condition.

There was no immediate information on what may have caused the fire.
