FDNY: Roof collapses at building behind 1 Edgewater Plaza

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — There were no injuries after a roof collapsed at a building near 1 Edgewater Plaza in Clifton on Tuesday afternoon, according to an FDNY spokesman.

The emergency call came in at 12:08 p.m. after the roof partially caved in at the abandoned and vacant building located behind 1 Edgewater Plaza, the spokesman said.

Firefighters has secured the site by 1:03 pm., he said.

It is unclear if Tuesday’s wintry weather contributed to the incident.
