FDNY Makes Quick Work of Fire in Port Richmond

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A fire at a home in Port Richmond was swiftly extinguished on Friday morning by the FDNY.

The blaze was called at 4:09 a.m. on the first floor of a residence at 99 Grove Ave., according to a spokesman for the FDNY/EMS.

No injuries were reported as about 60 firefighters from 12 units brought the “all-hands” fire under control at 4:31 a.m., according to the FDNY spokesman.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, the spokesman said.
