The Red Cross is assisting four families after a two-alarm fire in Brooklyn.
Flames broke out just before 5 p.m. at a three-story building on Park Avenue near Tompkins Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant.
Officials say it took about 100 firefighters 40 minutes to get the fire under control.
One firefighter and one person in the building were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The Fire Department says the blaze spread to all three floors of the building.
“Our units moved in aggressively and deliberately. They were able to knock down the fire rather quickly, the main body of fire,” said FDNY Deputy Chief Kevin Woods. “There were six occupants at the building at the time. All those occupants were removed, and they will be relocated by the American Red Cross.”
There is no word yet on a cause.
