Bushwick Fire Sends Over 100 Firefighters To Apartment

A 2-alarm fire tore through the top floor of 189 Moffat St. in Bushwick on Wednesday, the FDNY said. 25 firetrucks were at the scene.

BUSHWICK, BROOKLYN — A two-alarm fire tore through the top building of 189 Moffat St., a residential building, in Bushwick Wednesday afternoon, the FDNY confirmed.

Approximately 106 firefighters and 25 trucks were at the scene, with two extended firetruck ladders putting out fires in the buildings adjacent to 189 Moffat St., an FDNY spokesperson told Patch.

The call came in about the fire at 3:12, and the firefighters arrived at the scene around five minutes later, the FDNY spokesperson said. The fire was under control at 3:30 p.m., with no injuries reported.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
