QUEENS, NY — One month after firefighters rescued a 4-year-old boy trapped underneath a vehicle, the child was not only reunited with his saviors, he received a special holiday treat.

Dylan Cresta, 4, was pinned underneath a vehicle in Queens on Nov. 19 and initially hospitalized in serious condition, according to the FDNY.

The rescue wasn’t your “run-of-the-mill pin job,” FDNY Lt. John O’Connor said Monday, citing obstacles and the vehicle’s position on the child.

“The only thing I cared about was getting the car off the child as quickly as possible,” O’Connor said. “There was no better feeling than when we got him out and he was crying, I couldn’t be happier that he’s alive and doing well.”

A month after the ordeal, the team who rescued Cresta decided to see how he is doing.

“A lot of us have children and we all tended to and treated Dylan like he was our own,” Capt. Patrick Flynn said.

Dylan is getting around using a wheelchair and is recovering with the aid of a neck brace.

But pictures shared by FDNY showed he was all smiles Monday as he was reunited with his heroes, and got to meet Santa.
