3 Injured in Great Kills House Fire

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Two civilians and a firefighter were injured when a fire broke out in a house in Great Kills Wednesday afternoon, an FDNY spokesman said.

FDNY respond to a fire at 270 Maybury Ave. in Great Kills on Wednesday. (Google map) Firefighters responded to the blaze in the side apartment at 270 Maybury Ave. at 4:39 p.m., placing the fire under control shortly after 5 p.m., the spokesman said.

Two civilians were injured, but refused medical attention, while the injured firefighter was transported to Staten Island University Hospital, Ocean Breeze, with minor injuries, according to the spokesman.

12 units and 60 firefighters and EMS personnel responded to the all-hands fire, the spokesman said.
