10 People Hurt in Fourth of July Apartment Building Fire, FDNY Says

BRONX — Ten people were hurt when a massive Fourth of July fire engulfed the fourth floor of an apartment building Tuesday afternoon, according to the FDNY.

The blaze at 860 Hunts Point Ave. was reported at 1:10 p.m. and finally brought under control nearly two hours later, officials said.

Four civilians and six firefighters were hurt in the fire, officials said.

They were all treated for injuries that weren’t considered life threatening at area hospitals, officials said.
