It is with heavy hearts that we notify members of the passing of James (Jimmy) Lanza, Retired from Ladder 43. Jimmy was appointed to the FDNY on 01/13/1979 and while he started his career at Engine 14, he spent most of his career with Engine 53 and Ladder 43, El Barrio’s Bravest in Harlem. Jimmy was very involved with the Uniformed Firefighters Association, serving as a company delegate, battalion delegate and participating in many committees (Election, Constitution Committees, etc.).
