RICHMOND HILL, NY — Firefighters found a body in a boarded-up Richmond Hill building Tuesday night after dousing a blaze at the house.

The home, on 114th Street near 101st Avenue, caught fire around 9:50 p.m. It had been fully vacated by the Buildings Department in 2009 after it was deemed unsafe, the NY Daily News reported.

Around 10:30 p.m., firefighters were able to control the blaze. When they entered the home, they found the body of an unidentified person. The department wasn’t able to immediately confirm if the person was squatting in the building.
