UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — One person was injured Tuesday afternoon after a fire broke out in the basement of an Upper East Side residential building, an FDNY spokesman told Patch.
Firefighters arrived on the scene of the fire — 936 5th Ave. on the corner of East 75th Street — around 1:30 p.m. for a reported basement fire, an FDNY spokesman told Patch. The responders had the blaze under control by 1:50 p.m., police said.
During a search of the area one person was found to have minor injuries, an FDNY spokesman said. The person — who was not identified — was treated by EMS, fire officials told Patch.
