Firefighters use foam try to contain a 6th-alarm fire in a computer store on West 29th Street in Manhattan on Sunday, Oct. 30.A six-alarm fire struck a Manhattan commercial building in the early hours of Sunday morning, injuring 10 firefighters.
The fire at 9 W. 29th Street was called in just after 1 a.m, fire officials said. It struck what appeared to be a computer store on the basement floor of a five-story commercial building. The blaze then spread to the rest of the building.
No other buildings were severely damaged.
At least 240 firefighters were called to the scene as crews are still attempting to contain the fire, fire officials say.
All 10 fire fighters sustained minor, non life-threatening injuries. Four firefighters were taken to Bellevue Hospital, while one was transported to New York Hospital.
There was no information on a cause as of Sunday afternoon.
