The foundation that runs the 9/11 Memorial and Museum has gone to court to allege the Port Authority’s construction of the sacred site is “incomplete and deficient.”
The summons in Manhattan Supreme Court, which was filed on Thursday, serves notice that the nonprofit foundation could sue for $5 million for breach of contract.
Parts of the $700 million site, which includes a museum, memorial, pavilion and transit hub, are still under construction, and the legal notice was downplayed by both sides as procedural.
The two organizations have been working closely together to resolve the issue, a source said.
