Firefighters are battling a large brush fire in south Brooklyn Tuesday afternoon, officials said.

Approximately 150 firefighters responded to the 3rd alarm blaze at about 3:50 p.m. in the wooded areas near the Belt Parkway and Flatbush Avenue in Gerritsen Beach, FDNY officials said.

Large flames and columns of black smoke could be seen emanating from the fields across the Marine Park Golf Course.

Officials said that firefighters have contained most of the brush fire, which spanned almost a half mile, but were still fighting pockets.

There are no reported injuries.
