Firefighters battled a 4-alarm blaze that started in a Bronx home and tore through six buildings Wednesday, injuring six people.
At least 39 firefighting units and 168 firefighters were sent to the fire that was called in at 1:29 p.m.
The blaze started on the second floor of 1342 College Street, but by 2:08 p.m. the inferno had spread to five other buildings, the FDNY said.
One civilian and five firefighters were injured in the fire, the FDNY said. The injuries were not life-threatening.
The FDNY shared photographs of the blackened upper-levels of several of the affected Claremont homes, while other photos showed the row of buildings in flames.
By 3:00 p.m. the fire appeared to be under control, but the FDNY said it was not knocked down.
Firefighters were seen on the roof, hosing down charred remains.
