2 People Suffer Minor Injuries in Fire

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The FDNY quickly doused a fire at a home in Brighton heights were two people suffered minor injuries.

The two injured civilians refused medical attention, said a spokesman for the FDNY/EMS.

About 60 firefighters and 12 units fought the “all-hands” blaze that was called at 11:15 a.m. at 85 Silver Lake Road, according to the FDNY spokesman.

The fire in the basement of the home was brought under control at 11:48 a.m.
