A witness took a video of smoke and flames shooting from the car’s hood.
MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — A car burst into flames on one of Midtown’s busiest streets Wednesday afternoon, fire officials and witnesses said.
The car caught fire around 2:30 p.m., in front of Madison Square Garden on Seventh Avenue and West 31st Street, an FDNY spokesman said. Firefighters were still on scene battling the blaze an hour later, the spokesman said. No injuries were reported, the spokesman said.
Flames and smoke appeared to be shooting out of the hood of the black sedan, according to video taken at the scene.
