2 firefighters suffer minor shock injuries in Bloomfield blaze

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Two firefighters suffered minor shock injuries hours after battling a fire in Bloomfield Friday morning, according to an FDNY spokesman.

The emergency call came in at around 11 a.m. from the Engine 157/Ladder 80 firehouse on Castleton Avenue in Port Richmond, said the spokesman.

They were transported to Richmond University Medical Center in West Brighton.

About 60 firefighters and 12 units responded to a blaze at 586 Gulf Ave. early Friday morning, according to a post on the FDNY Twitter feed.
