MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — Trump Tower, the Midtown Manhattan headquarters of President-elect Donald Trump was evacuated late Tuesday afternoon due to reports of a suspicious package, an NYPD spokesman told Patch.
The NYPD bomb squad arrived at Trump Tower to investigate an unattended bag, which turned out to be full of children’s toys, an NYPD spokesman told Patch. The police have given the all clear to return to Trump Tower, according to a department spokesman.
One transition pool reporter confirmed the tower was being evacuated, but that Trump is in Florida.
Police were seen in the lobby of Trump Tower waving at people and shouting at them to get out of the building.
