The Sunday fire that tore through a prominent Catholic church in Queens — just hours before Mass — started near the parish’s organ, FDNY officials said. Wiring issues in the organ’s pipe tower caused the two-alarm blaze at Our Lady of Sorrows in Corona, the Fire Department announced Monday.

Firefighters were called to the house of worship about 5:45 a.m., hours before the first of the church’s usual eight Masses.

More than 100 firefighters battled the blaze for about two hours, fire officials said. There were no reported injuries.

The church was closed to the public Monday.

Services were moved from the church to its nearby school’s auditorium, an Our Lady of Sorrows spokeswoman said.

“People have been very supportive,” she said.
