NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — The FDNY Marine Unit rescued a man from the Hudson River Monday afternoon.
Firefighters were called in after reports of two people in the water at 43rd Street, just south of the Circle Line tour boats, CBS2 reported.
One person apparently had jumped in to try and rescue someone they saw in the water, but was unsuccessful.
The Good Samaritan was able to get out of the water. The victim was then rescued by the marine unit.
“They pulled the guy out pretty quick, and I saw them doing CPR on him and put him in the ambulance and took off,” said one witness.
The condition of the victim who was rescued from the water has not been released.
