The FDNY’s top brass will soon be rearranged, the Daily News has learned. Longtime FDNY veteran and Chief of Department Edward Kilduff is looking to retire by the end of the year, sources said.

His spot — the highest-ranking uniformed position in the FDNY — will likely go to Brooklyn Borough Commander James Leonard, sources said.

Kilduff was sworn in Jan. 13, 2010, by former Fire Commissioner Salvatore Cassano.

Cassano stepped down June 9 when Mayor de Blasio brought former FDNY Chief Daniel Nigro out of retirement to head the department.

Nigro is considering switching two other top spots, sources said.

Chief of Operations James Esposito is being considered for chief of training, sources said.

The head of training, Thomas Galvin, would swap and become chief of operations, sources said.

Esposito, a 39-year veteran, will likely retire rather than make the lateral move, sources said.

It’s not known if Galvin, a World Trade Center survivor, will also retire or accept the operations spot, sources said.

The FDNY declined to comment.
