Fire Tears Through Bronx Building, Injures 19: FDNY

THE BRONX, NY — A two-alarm fire tore through a residential building in the Bronx and left more than a dozen people injured early Wednesday morning, the FDNY said. The blaze in the three-story building on Holland Avenue near East 214th Street was first reported at 6:10 a.m., a Fire Department spokesman said.

The fire started on the ground floor and spread to the building’s second and third floors, the spokesman said. It was under control just after 7:15 a.m., he said.
