Cuomo signs bill creating civil service tests for top positions in FDNY Emergency Medical Service

The unions representing the FDNY’s Emergency Medical Service workers scored a major victory as Gov. Cuomo signed legislation leveling the playing field for those hoping to climb the career ladder.

Civil service tests will now be administered for EMS workers to advance to Captain, Deputy Chief and Chief.
