Fire Tears Through Headquarters of City Council Candidate in Brooklyn

BROWNSVILLE, Brooklyn (WABC) — A two-alarm fire tore through the campaign headquarters of a City Council candidate in Brownsville, Brooklyn Sunday night.

The fire burned the storefront headquarters of Alicka Samuel on Belmont Avenue just after 9:15 p.m.

The fire burned through the campaign office and an adjacent thrift shop before being brought under control.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, though authorities have found no indication it was suspicious, the FDNY spokesman said.
