Statement from UFA President James Slevin on Death of FF William Tolley

NEW YORK CITY – Uniformed Firefighters Association (UFA) President James Slevin issued the following statement following the death of FF William Tolley of Ladder 135 this afternoon in Queens:

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of FF William Tolley, who died in the line of duty this afternoon in Queens.

FF Tolley died a hero, living up to the title of ‘Bravest.’

His death is a grim reminder of the dangerous work New York City firefighters do on behalf of our city every single day and FF Tolley’s sacrifice today will never be forgotten.”

Firefighter Tolley is survived by his wife Marie and daughter Isabella.
