STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The FDNY is responding to what is being referred to as a “steam emergency” in New Dorp on Saturday night.

FDNY received a call at 8:57 p.m. about a fire on Tysens Lane next to a housing complex, according to a FDNY spokesman.

However, the event was later categorized as a “steam emergency,” the spokesman said.

The spokesman couldn’t provide further information. It is unknown at this time if there are any injuries.
