OH RATS!

Not every one hates the pesky rats that hang out on New York City’s streets!

And it seems the New York Fire Department has a bit of a soft spot for the creatures after a paramedic rescued one hungry rat that was stuck in a garbage can.

The Brooklyn rat was saved on Tuesday after getting its head stuck in the dumpster while scavenging for food, according to the New York Daily News.

Jackson was able to take some adorable photos of the rat’s unfortunate situation before it was rescued.

The FDNY paramedic then loosened the garbage can’s grip on the tiny rat with the help of a hand wipe.

In just a few moments, the rat scampered happily away after being freed from its dilemma.

And that’s how the trapped rat lived to tell its tale.
