FDNY Union Worried About Lack Of Fire Station At Hudson Yards

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) – The Hudson Yards development on Manhattan’s West Side promises residential skyscrapers and one of the highest outdoor observation decks on Earth – but some officials are worried about what it’s lacking.

Hudson Yards is set to open in 2019 as the largest private real estate development in the country, but no firehouse has been planned as part of the massive project.

That’s of great concern to Gerard Fitzgerald, the head of the Uniformed Firefighters Association, an FDNY union.
