An elderly woman and her daughter died Monday after 100 firefighters tackled a fast-moving fire that engulfed their Queens home.

April 16–An elderly woman and her daughter died Monday after a fast-moving, pre-dawn fire engulfed their Queens home, authorities said.

More than a hundred firefighters fought the blaze in a downpour around 4 a.m. at the home on Wheatley St. near Brunswick Ave. in Far Rockaway, officials said.

The victims, whose names weren’t immediately released, were rushed to St. John’s Episcopal Hospital, where they died.
