Yesterday evening, on Second Avenue, a battalion of firefighters gathered to honor a Dallas firefighter who died in the tragic helicopter accident Sunday. The memorial was held outside A. Provenzano Lanza funeral home, where dozens of uniformed firefighters and their respective vehicles stood in somber salute.
Twenty-six-year-old fireman Brian McDaniel – with Station 36 in Dallas – had been vacationing in New York City, and one of five passengers who perished when the charter chopper went down in the frigid waters. Time magazine reportedthat McDaniel was single and had no children, but is survived by his family in Denver.
