Grand Central Fire: Firefighters Battle Tractor-Trailer Blaze, FDNY Says

Firefighters battled a tractor-trailer fire on an elevated platform outside Grand Central Terminal Friday.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — Firefighters put out a fire Friday morning on an elevated platform outside Grand Central Terminal, an FDNY spokeswoman told Patch.

The fire started around 11:29 a.m. and was put out in about 15 minutes, the spokeswoman told Patch. A portable compressor was the source of the fire, officials told Patch. The elevated platform is located above Park Avenue near East 42nd Street.

No injures were reported during the fire, an FDNY spokeswoman said.
