This larger than life, lasting thank you to fallen FDNY EMT Yadira Arroyo has popped up in the Bronx, just in time for EMS Week.

The mural dedicated to Arroyo, 44, the “Matriarch of Station 26” is on Morrison and Westchester Aves. in Soundview, the neighborhood she served.

The mother of five, known as (Yari) died in the line of duty on March 16, when she was mowed down by a crazed criminal who stole her ambulance.

Arroyo, who was assigned to Station 26 in Morrisania, is the eighth member of EMS killed in the line of duty.

Designed by FDNY EMT Paramedic Diana Cassa, the artwork was created by members of the Bronx-based TATS CRU, a group of talented graffiti artists who now create murals in New York, across the U.S. and as far away as China.
