Bozeman Firefighter will participate in the 3rd Annual New York City Firefighter Stair Climb

One of Bozeman’s firemen will be heading to NYC on a special mission.

David Hurtman was chosen to join hundreds of firefighters in the 3rd Annual New York City Firefighter Stair Climb.

On March 19th 2017, 343 firefighters in full firefighting gear will ascend the 72 floors. Each firefighter will climb in honor of one of the 343 FDNY firefighters killed on September 11th 2001, the climb also will memorialize fallen first responders and military personnel worldwide.

The 2017 memorial climb will see the addition of 60 law enforcement officers climbing to honor the 37 PAPD and 23 NYPD officers killed on September 11th, 2001.

The New York City Firefighter Stair Climb is to have chosen Friends of Firefighters as its 2017 beneficiary. Friends of Firefighters is dedicated to addressing the physical, mental health, and wellness needs of New York City’s firefighters and their families. Their ongoing mission is to provide long-term support and services through confidential counseling, wellness services, and other assistance required by firefighters and their families
