City Re-Scoring FDNY’s Lieutenant Promotional Exam for Third Time

The city is re-scoring the FDNY’s lieutenant promotional exam for a third time after officials say human error led to botched test scores.

The Department of Citywide Administrative Services says the score has two parts: a multiple-choice exam that’s combined with a score determined by a firefighter’s seniority and department awards.

The agency says the awards scores were not uploaded properly for all the candidates.

The department calls it an unusual occurrence and assures test-takers that re-scoring will not delay any promotions.

Officials say they’re re-scoring the exam and candidates will be notified of the results early next week.

An error on one of the questions within the exam forced it to be re-scored the first time.fire 10
