Eight people, including a firefighter, suffered minor smoke inhalation in a blaze at a residential high-rise in Tribeca. The FDNY says the fire broke out in a fifth-floor apartment at Independence Plaza North at 310 Greenwich St. around 8:40 p.m. Sunday. The blaze was under control by 10:25 p.m., but not before five people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The firefighter was among them.

Three people refused medical attention.

Fire marshals are investigating what sparked the blaze in the 39-story tower.
