1 Seriously Hurt in Manhattan High Rise Fire – Uniformed Firefighters

NEW YORK — One person is hospitalized with serious injuries after a fire at a Manhattan residential high rise.

The FDNY says the fire occurred around 11:45 a.m. Tuesday on the 34th floor of Two WorldWide Plaza at 50th Street and 8th Avenue.

Firefighters brought the fire under control about an hour later. The fire department says the cause is under investigation but is not deemed suspicious.

The person with serious injuries was being treated at Roosevelt Hospital. Four other people sustained minor injuries.
